We recently moved into a new home and are finally settled in and unpacked. Part of moving always involves finding spaces for your stuff or figuring out that you need some stuff for your space. At our old house the kids playroom was carpeted. Our new place has wood floors throughout much of the house, including the playroom. My kids started complaining that the floor was cold and uncomfortable and I realized that we needed to put a rug in there in there for their comfort but also so the room wouldn't look so bland. Here is a picture of playroom before we got a rug:
To see how it looks after and enter to win a Mohawk Home rug of your own read on.
I was thrilled to receive a Mohawk Home Rug for use in our playroom. Mohawk creates a variety of flooring solutions, whether you are looking for carpet, tile, hardwood, area rugs or other options. You can find their area rugs at Target, Kohl's, Home Depot and other retailers. They offer area rugs in many sizes and styles so no matter your decor you will find something to fit your lifestyle. For our room, a 5x8 rug worked best. We had a hard time choosing a design since there were so many patterns we liked. We went with the Mohawk Home Annapolis Lines Multi 5 ft. x 8 ft. AreaRug which is sold at Home Depot. I love the colors and the pattern seemed like it would be fun in a playroom.
I really think the rug brightens up the space don't you? It automatically gives the room a pulled together look.
But what would the kids think? That was the real test for me. My kids were so excited when they walked in the playroom and saw the rug. They started rolling around on it and doing somersaults, something they never did on the hardwood floors.
Then they noticed the colors and pattern on the rug. They started playing a game where they jumped from color to color and created another game where one child would yell a color and everyone would run to stand on it.
We soon realized that the lines on the rug made a perfect track for our trains. All aboard!
Needless to say, the entire family is happy with the rug. In addition to being a stylish addition to our playroom, it is well made and easy to clean which is important with three kids around. I can also feel good about the fact that Mohawk rugs are made in America.
Do you have a space that can use a Mohawk Rug? The good folks at Mohawk Home would like to give away any rug up to 5x8 and valued up to $150. You get to choose from lots of beautiful designs. Want to win? Of course you do! Rules and entry are below. Check out Mohawk Home on Facebook and Twitter.
