- Tube of crescent rolls
- Apple pie filling
- Caramel sauce
That's it! A 3 ingredient dessert. That's my kind of cooking. They are really simple to make too. I gave each kid a spoon with an apple from the can of apple pie filling. Then they placed it on the open crescent, added a touch of cinnamon and rolled away. I use activity trays for a variety of projects and they work great here to catch any mess.
Little C's aim with the cinnamon was not so good, but she had fun licking it off her tray when she was done.
This is the only photo I have of B baking with us since was having a MAJOR tantrum for a while before and after this. You'd never know it by looking at her here.
Ready to go in the oven for 12 minutes at 375 degrees. Make sure you pinch the edges so the juice from the apple pie filling doesn't come out. That part is tricky for a kid to do.
When they came out of the oven we poured some caramel sauce on top. Do not skip the caramel sauce. It took the lowly crescent to a whole new level.
These apple crescents took around 15 minutes from start to finish and could not have been easier - or tastier. Talk about easy apple pie! They are best right out of the oven and I am thinking some whipped cream would be great on top. Or maybe some ice cream...

ReplyDeleteLoved this. Thx for sharing!
ReplyDeleteSounds great! Deffinately going to make these! Another great way to use crescents is rolling up a fun size snicker bar in the crescent. Whilbarney are baking mix up some powdered sugar icing & drizzle over them when finished!
ReplyDeleteJust made these....so yummy and easy! My family loved them! Thanks ;)
ReplyDeleteThis is soooooo unhealthy! Come on now - baked apples with a LITTLE brown sugar and cinnamon would be a much healthier alternative. It's up to us to teach our kids about good nutrition.
ReplyDeleteThen DONT make them! Seriously just dont comment next time!
DeleteAgreed!!!! Geez!
DeleteI tried making these last night in preparation for our family reunion. I dipped the raw crescents in sugar then used peach pie filling (as that is all I had in my pantry). Mine came out flat instead of fluffy and flakey. Is this because of the sugar on the outside or could I have used too much "goo" from the pie filling?
ReplyDeleteMade these yesterday for thanksgiving.. My crescents were nearly burnt on the bottom but the dough was still gooey. I was disappointed, but the guys loved them & ate them up so I guess that's all that matters. 'll def try it again. But any ideas on what to do with all the leftover pie filling??
ReplyDeleteYou have such wonderful helpers!
ReplyDeleteTried these tonight and they were DELICIOUS! Thanks for such a simple, quick, but OH SO GOOD recipe.
