As the only coffee drinker in our house, I never took the time to make a full pot of coffee. It took too long to make on my hectic gotta-get-the-kids-to-school mornings plus I hated wasting an entire pot when I only wanted one cup. My problems were solved recently, when I was sent a Starbucks Verismo Brewer from Staples. The Verismo allows me to make a single cup of coffee, espresso or a latte at home.

If you are a lover of Starbucks coffee and lattes, you can now make them at home in your pajamas thanks to the Verismo system (which you can pick up next time you're getting office supplies at Staples - how cool is that?). Starbucks in my pajamas? I'm sold. As soon as mine arrived, I was excited to try it out. The folks at Starbucks somehow knew this and included a welcome kit with pods for coffee, espresso and latte.

So how easy is it to brew a cup of coffee? Let me walk you through the process. Start by filling the removable tank with water. The tank holds a liter of water so if you crave another cup at some point later in the day, you're covered. 

Time to decide what you want to drink. Will it be a latte morning? Espresso? Or just a steaming cup of your favorite Starbucks coffee? I love the House Blend, though there are plenty of options such as Pike Place Roast and Caffe Verona. There's even a decaf option.

Peel the freshness seal off the pod. I love this part of the process because when the seal is removed I get a whiff of the strong coffee scent.

Drop the pod into the Verismo, pull the lever and prepare for some fresh coffee. To quote Staples - that was EASY!

The Verismo comes equipped with a height adjustable drip tray which makes it able to accommodate a variety of cup sizes. Press a button and within seconds the high pressure brewing system is heated and dispensing your beverage.

The Starbucks Verismo 580 features a pod removal system that moves and stores up to 10 pods, making for an easy clean up.
