Set Up a Taste Test For Kids

Set Up a Taste Test for Kids - Kids have so much fun tasting food and sharing their opinions. #TasteOff #sponsored

I want to thank Yoplait for sponsoring today's #TasteOff, and giving me the opportunity to openly express my honest opinion.

My kids love helping me in the kitchen so when I had the opportunity to participate in a taste test between Yoplait Greek Blueberry to Chobani Blueberry Fruit on the Bottom, I decided to include them.  They had the best time participating and they loved having their opinions heard. Read on to see how easy it is to set up a taste test for your kids.

When I opened up the containers they looked quite different. I asked my kids to tell me how they looked different. The major difference they saw right away was the color. Yoplait Greek Blueberry Yogurt is blended so it has a blue/purplish tint. The Chobani has the blueberries on the bottom, so it just looks like plain Greek Yogurt on top.

My kids helped me stir up the two yogurts and they noticed that the Chobani yogurt changed color when the fruit on the bottom was mixed in. You could really see the blueberries in the Yoplait Greek Yogurt.

yoplait taste-off

Time for the taste-off! I decided to take the taste test first so my kids could see how it worked. I started with the Chobani Greek Yogurt Blueberry Fruit on the Bottom. It was very smooth and creamy and had a little bit of a tart taste to it.

Best Greek Yogurt

Next, I tried the Yoplait Greek Blueberry. It tasted creamy as well. It wasn't as rich as the Chobani, but it was sweeter which was a big plus to me. That being said, both yogurts were very good. If I had to pick a favorite, I would pick the Yoplait because of the sweeter taste.

Grandma was visiting and she jumped at the chance to participate in a taste test as well. She greatly preferred the Yoplait Yogurt. She liked the size and amount of the fruit and just thought it tasted better in general.

Okay, finally it was time for the kids taste-off. I sent the kids out of the room and set up some taster cups with Chobani in the A cups and Yoplait in the B cups.

I called the kids back and they got to tasting!

I provided them with pencils and paper so they could write their results.

They were so excited to share their results! Two of my daughters preferred A - the Chobani yogurt while one of my daughters liked Yoplait the best. If you are keeping track, five of us took the #TasteOff and the results were as follows Yoplait - 3 Chobani - 2.

Results of the Greek Yogurt taste off

If you are setting up a taste test for your kids try to hide the brands that they are sampling. It made it so much fun for them to guess which cup contained which yogurt. Also, providing some paper and a pencil made the whole experience feel very official and important.

Some of my favorite things about Yoplait Greek Yogurt:

• No artificial sweeteners or flavors
• Natural colors and real pieces of fruit
• 5.3 ounces of yogurt in each cup
• Available Nationally

I've taken the Yoplait Taste-Off with my kids, now it's your turn. Let me know who won your Taste-Off.

Try the better tasting Greek! In a national taste test, Yoplait® Greek Blueberry Beat Chobani® Blueberry Fruit On The Bottom.

  7. What a fun experiment you guys did. You would think with me being a scientist by education I would have been a little better about doing them blind, but well, I didn't!

Funny how we all have different tastes!
