Motivate Kids to Read Using Technology #ad

I devoured books as a child. I couldn't get my hands on them fast enough. This posed a problem for my mom who was constantly buying books and making trips to the library to keep my love of reading strong. When I first heard about Bookboard I thought how my mom's life would have been a lot easier if it was around 30 years ago. So what is Bookboard exactly? It is a digital library subscription designed to motivate kids up to age 12 to read.

How it works:

The Bookboard Digital Library offers over 400 books for kids up to age 12 to discover, unlock and collect. It grows with a child's ability and changing interests. Kids can pick from a huge selection of age appropriate books. There are no wait times while the book downloads and no need to make a payment prior to enjoying a new book.

I love that I can set up accounts for all 3 of kids (under the same plan) and have them each read and enjoy books at their level and at their own pace. Since we only have one tablet, it's great that Bookboard also works on a laptop via Chrome so more than one child can read at once. This has really allowed us to spend quality time together as I read and enjoy stories with my kids and cheer them on as they unlock more books.

When a child logs on they see a selection of books which have been curated by a librarian and selected especially for them. My three year old loves this feature as she gets to have her own books. When you are the youngest of three, this is a big deal!

There is a great selection of fiction and non fiction books including favorites like the Bernstein Bears. Plus, every month about 20 new titles are added to make sure kids never run out of great content.

When your child finishes a book they are rewarded by getting to pick a chest which when unlocked releases a new book. My daughter was so into unlocking more books that even when it time for dinner, she wanted to finish her current book. Talk about motivated!
