Food Fun

When I have time, I like to make mealtimes a little more fun for my girls. I have picky eaters and for some reason they are more prone to eat something when it is in a funny shape or presented in a creative way. There are some people doing amazingly fun and creative things with food. One of my favorites is Muffin Tin Mom

While I am not as creative as all that, I do like to change things up at mealtime once in a while.

Here are a few easy ones I have done over the past few weeks.

I call him stick man.  Jam Sandwich head (with sprinkles and edible markers used for the face), cheese body, pretzel stick arms and legs, blueberries for the ground, and yogurt is a pretty muffin cup.  Can I just say I LOVE these Wilton silicone muffin cups.  I have yet to actually bake a muffin in them, but I love them for snacks and meals.  I got them at Michael's with a 40% off coupon and have used them countless times.

This was a bunny themed meal because one of my twins ADORES bunnies.

I made the bunny out of flatbread using a cookie cutter (from a Wilton set - also 40% off at Michael's).  He looks greasy because I put some butter on him.  Sprinkles for eyes, nose and mouth and shredded cheese for whiskers.  The other bunny was also done from a cookie cutter with American cheese.  He is sitting on a carrot log.  Easy peasy!  If you invest in the set of cookie cutters - I believe there were 101 in the set - you will be amazed at all the fun food things you can do.  You can also use them for lots of crafty things but I'll cover that in another post.

OK, I am hungry.  Time to grab a snack...
