Today I will share a fun toy sorting activity that will have the kids cleaning up and working on their sorting skills. I came across this toy sorting activity by accident. You see, the girls were playing with Mr. Potato Head this morning and the mess looked something like this:
After 15-20 minutes they announced they were all done. But I was not ready for them to be done since I still had to load the dishwasher. So I tried to think of a way to extend the activity. Then it came to me! Sorting! You can sort anything. Why not potato parts? I brought out some plastic containers and started them off by putting an arm in one, a mouth in another, an ear in another, and an eye in a fourth container.
The girls picked up on this very quickly and sorted the rest. They even asked for a box to put the hats in. The toy sorting activity worked! The kids learned something, mom got a few minutes to finish a chore and everyone is happy!

Love those little, easy activities for them to do so you can get stuff done!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much Jamie! I am always looking for ways to extend play and get a few more minutes of peace - I mean learning!
