Painting Popcorn

Painting Popcorn activity - Kids will love painting their popcorn before they eat it. The paint is simple to make and edible.

My kids, like most, love painting. They also love popcorn. Where can I be going with this? Well, why not combine the two activities by painting popcorn! This kids activity is simple to prepare and keeps kids busy so that they will slow down and really chew their popcorn. We have also had fun with food by making yogurt covered berries on a stick and Marshmallow Sculptures.

You will need:

  • Popcorn
  • Food coloring
  • Milk
  • Marshmallows
  • Paint brush
Painting Popcorn - Kids paint their own snack!

Okay, so you don't need the marshmallows, but they are another fun thing that kids can paint so I threw them in there. I mixed some food coloring with regular milk and placed the different colors in a muffin tin. I provided the kids with popcorn, marshmallows and a paintbrush and let them paint away.

Popcorn Painting Activity

This activity was super easy and uses materials most people already have at home, so try painting popcorn with your kids and let me know how they like it!
