I saw a cute idea on Pinterest from La T Da for ice cream cones made with cotton candy, and I thought it would be an adorable favor for the kids at C's party. I wanted to jazz them up a bit, and that's where Linda from Partycraft Secrets came in. As a mom of two, Linda knows that parties don't just happen. She offers lots of great ideas and materials in various themes to help you plan your party. Leave the creativity to her!
She was nice enough to send me some of her themed craft ebooks and they are chock full of tips, ready-to-print pages, crafts ideas and more to make your party a success. Among the themes she offers: Ballet, Fairy, Jungle, Pirates, Princess and Mermaids. We didn't have a theme since it was at the kid's venue, but I used some of her pretty tags from the Fairy ebook on my cotton candy cones and they were just the right touch and were well received by our guests.
Supplies you will need:
- Sugar cones
- Cotton candy (I got these bags at the dollar store and was able to make 6 cones from each bag)
- Ribbon
- Clear plastic treat bags
- Name tags
The cones were so easy to put together. Take a scoop sized piece of cotton candy, mold it into a ball and place it in a sugar cone. You will want to push it in a bit. I had no trouble with any cotton candy falling out even during transport to the party. Then put the cone in a treat bag and secure with a ribbon and name tag. That's it!
Place in a pretty party basket and prepare to delight your party guests.
The party was a big success and I didn't have to cook or clean up afterward. I can't wait to use the other ideas in the Partycraft Secrets ebook. I like how you can use the crafts and activities individually even if you don't have a party. I know they will keep my kids plenty busy.
Linda is offering a mess for less reader the chance to win their own fairy ebook and print paper. Thanks Partycraft Secrets! Enter by leaving a comment with your email address stating what is your favorite ebook from Partycraft Secrets. Winner will be chosen at random on February 8th.
