Recently, I recieved some Boz The Green Bear Next Door children's DVDs. I was super excited to share them with my girls because I am familiar with the Boz the Bear series and love how they combine faith with learning. I don't have to worry about the kinds of messages my kids are getting when watching these.
Boz is a big green bear that lives in a tree house next door to his friends, twins, Drew and Gracie. Together they learn about the world and God. Drew and Gracie have a great sibling relationship, the kind that I love having modeled for my kids. They also have loving parents and grandparents who take time to pray and play with them. The animation is bright, crisp and engaging. All of the characters are friendly and live in a place any kid would want to visit. Finally, each Boz DVD features fun and catchy songs that even I find myself singing along to. Even my 2 year old who doesn't get all the concepts yet, still dances and claps to the music.
The first DVD we watched was Start Singing with Boz. My kids are very musical and love to sing and dance. They were bopping about to the 20+ songs on this DVD. Their favorite song was God Sees You and He Likes What He Sees. My twins really love to watch Drew and Gracie because they are twins as well.
We also watched Thank You God for Bananas, Bubbles and Busy Bodies. This is perfect for preschoolers as it teaches all about eating healthy, keeping clean and being active. My kids are picky eaters, so I loved the fact that they learned all about how God made fruits and veggies to keep us healthy. One night when we had some veggies with dinner my 3 year old shouted, "just like Boz!" I like that the DVD contains three 12 minute episodes since you can just watch one or two if you are short on time, or don't want to let your kids watch too much TV.
The kids really enjoyed all the DVDs, but their favorite was Thank You God for B-O-Zs and 1-2-3s. My twins are three and a half and they just love everything having to do with numbers and letters. In this DVD, Boz the Bear helps Drew and Gracie learn how numbers and letters can help us explore God's world. The DVD includes three 12 minute episodes and my favorite was B Nice 2 Each Other. My kids have their share of disagreements and I love how this offers ways to work through differences.
You can purchase Boz DVDs, CDs, books, toys and more here. The Boz the Bear website has lots of great free parents and kid resources.
Thanks to everyone at Boz and Exclaim, we have some Dvds to give to away to 2 lucky Mess For Less readers. Each winner will receive 3 Dvds: Start Singing with Boz, Thank You God for Bananas, Bubbles and Busy Bodies, and Thank You God for B-O-Z's and 1-2-3's. Entry and rules below.
