#ad Raising Money for Schools While Eating Well with Tyson Project A+ #ClipForSchool #Cbias

School will be starting in a few weeks. My twins are so excited to be starting Kindergarten! They will be attending a local public school and we recently got a packet of information about the donations that the school requests from parents. In many parts of the country, shrinking school budgets have forced public schools to ask parents to donate money for supplies and services. Even with these donations, many schools still come up short. That's where Tyson comes in. Thanks to Tyson's Project A+ Program schools can get much needed funds when parents purchase participating Tyson products.

You might be thinking, I'd like some money for my kid's school, how does the Project A+ program work? It's simple. Let me walk you through it.

Head over to the Tyson Project A+ website to learn more about the program. In a nutshell, each label from a participating Tyson product is worth 24 cents to your child's school which is a lot higher than similar programs.

I started out by doing a search for the school my twins will be attending. This is as easy as entering the school's phone number or zip code.

It was not already enrolled in the program, so I signed up so the school can start earning money.

Then it's a matter of collecting the labels. There are over 40 Tyson products that carry the Project A+ label. Parents can collect these labels and when there are at least 100, they can be redeemed. The school can decide what they will spend the money on.

Technology and supplies eat up a lot of my school's budget so I think that all these labels can really make a difference in those areas.

We shopped for our Tyson products at Safeway. You can see more about our shopping trip on our Google+ album. While we were there we also looked for participating products marked with a Safeway Back to School tag. 10% of the net purchase price of those items supports the school of your choice at the end of the program.

We made sure to look for the A+ label on the Tyson products so we could earn money for our school. You can see it in the top right hand corner.

On the back of the Grilled and Ready Chicken Breast Fillets was this label explaining the program. This is the part that will need to be clipped and turned in at school.

Since we purchased some Tyson chicken, I decided to use it to create an easy family dinner. We used a 3 qt casserole dish. Adjust your ingredients if you are making a larger size.

Ingredients

4 Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken Breasts
1 lb box Farfalle pasta (use any variety)
Tortilla strips
3 tablespoons of ranch dressing
3 tablespoons of butter
1 1/2 cups of shredded cheese (we used a cheddar and jack mix)

The Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken is super easy to prepare. It's already cooked, grilled and glazed so all you have to do is pop it in the microwave. Looks like it came right off the grill doesn't it? Chop the chicken breasts into bite sized pieces.

We used around 3/4 of a 1 pound box of pasta. Boil your pasta according to package directions. Drain and return to pot. Add three tablespoons of butter to the pasta and stir to evenly coat it. Spray cooking spray on a casserole dish. After draining the pasta, add half of it to the bottom of the casserole dish. Then top with half of the chopped chicken and 3/4 cup of shredded cheese. Add another layer of pasta and add the remainder of the chopped chicken.

Top off with the remaining 3/4 cup of shredded cheese.

Bake at 350 for 20 minutes until the cheese has melted and the meal is cooked through. When it comes out of the oven add some tortilla strips and 3 tablespoons of ranch dressing to the top.

This is an easy family meal that can be put together fairly quickly thanks to the Tyson Grilled and Ready Chicken. Plus you can feel good eating it knowing that you are helping your child's school by purchasing products you already enjoy. You can follow Tyson on Twitter @TysonTweets and on Facebook.
