My daughters love books. Even though they can't read many books yet, they love looking at the pictures and of course, being read to. Recently, I received a copy of "The Parable of the Lily" by Liz Curtis Higgs and published by Tommy Nelson. The kids were excited as soon as they saw the cover. The bold illustrations and Spring flowers really spoke to them.
"The Parable of the Lily" is perfect for kids ages 1-5. I love how the book really touches upon the true meaning of Easter, but does so in a way even small children can understand. The book tells the delightful story of a girl who gets a mysterious gift that seems disappointing at first but later brings great joy. The end of the book will remind readers of God's grace.
The "Parable" series of books has sold over one million copies. You can get a preview of the book by clicking here.
I have three kids and they are always jockeying for position when I am reading them a story. This over-sized board book makes reading a story to multiple kids a breeze. They could all see the illustrations and follow along.

my favorite symbol of easter is the empty tomb. Because I like the happy ending and hope part.
