Pretend Baking Water Play

I am excited to introduce you to Jaime from Frogs & Snails & Puppy Dogs. Some of you may already be familiar with her great ideas and activities for kids. If you've never been there, I urge you to pop in and say hi. You will be inspired!

Playing in our play kitchen and playing in water are 2 of our favorite things over here.  So I decided to add the two ideas together for us to cook in the water bin.  I couldn't wait for the boys to start playing and see what they cooked up.

What I used:

Plastic bin, sprinkles, empty extract bottle and sprinkle bottle, bowls, measuring cups, oats, raisins, and tray.

What I did:

I set up the tray with all the baking items the kids would need.  I set the plastic water bin in a chair and added water.  I then had the kids come play.  Easy Peasy.

They both had fun exploring the items on the tray.  It was a great sensory experience for them.  We talked about all the different things they had in the tray. They cooked up all sorts of creations by using their imaginations.  They also got to see what happens to sprinkles, oats, and raisins when added to water.  Even though this was  a little messy we all had a lot of fun.  Clean up was not bad.  I washed the dishes and rinsed off the porch with a few buckets of water.

As always we hope you and the kids can enjoy this too.

All kids are different and only you can decide how you let your kids play. And with what materials you let them play with. My children are supervised when
playing. Please keep this in mind with any post you read of mine!

I am an everyday stay at home mom. I have 3 boys ages 4yr to 8mo.  I love to find fun activities, crafts, recipes.... for us to do together. I then enjoy sharing them with others in hopes they may find something for their family to enjoy too.  My blog Frogs & Snails & Puppy Dog Tail.  You can also follow us through our Pinterest, FacebookTwitter,Google+,and our G+ community, All Things Kids.
