I had the chance to make a Back to School Bacon Mac and Cheese as part of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This family friendly recipe has been compensated and all opinions are my own. #CBias #SocialFabric #shop #BTSIdeas
I am all for anything that helps me get dinner on the table quicker. Like many of you, I am still trying to get into the back to school swing. I am feeling a little stressed by new schedules and changes. Dinner should not be another thing to stress about. Luckily Nestle Meal Solutions can help. Nestle offers a variety of products designed to help you create easy meals on those busy school nights. I recently went to Walmart (check out our shopping trip) and purchased some Nestle products to make some family pleasing Bacon Mac and Cheese and a special dessert.
For the Bacon Mac and Cheese you will need:
- 1 box of elbow macaroni
- 3 cups of shredded cheese (we used a cheddar and jack mix)
- Nestle Carnation Evaporated Milk - 12 oz can
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 4 slices of cooked bacon, crumbled
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preheat the oven to 375. Cook the elbow macaroni according to package directions. Drain. Pour 1/3 of the macaroni into a greased 2 quart casserole dish.
Cover with 1 cup of shredded cheese, salt, pepper and a few pats of butter. Repeat this process three times until you have created three layers of macaroni and cheese.
Pour the can of Carnation Evaporated Milk over the entire casserole.
Bake in a 375 degree oven for 45 minutes. When it comes out of the oven sprinkle the crumbled bacon over the top.
The combined bacon and cheese flavor reminded me of a loaded baked potato. This meal makes plenty, so there will be leftovers which always make my life easier.
For an easy school night dessert, we tried the Nestle Cookie Brownie. Yes, you heard me right. A COOKIE BROWNIE. You no longer have to decide between a cookie and brownie for dessert because the good folks at Nestle have combined the two. We decided to pair them with some Dreyer's (Edy's on the East coast) Slow Churned Light Ice Cream for an extra special treat.
The Cookie Brownie mix comes with two packages - one is a brownie mix and the other is chocolate chip cookie mix. You make each of them individually.
The brownie batter gets poured in the pan first.
Then you drop rounded spoonfuls of the cookie batter on top.
After baking, you are left with these beautiful cookie brownies.
Top with a scoop of Dreyer's Slow Churned Light Ice Cream and you are all set to wow the family.

Yumm!!!! The cookie brownies are a new favorite and I'd love to try it with ice cream on top next time! Your homemade bacon mac n cheese looks completely delicious too--will be trying that soon!
