The other night I had a nightmare about dirt and mold growing on the floor of my kitchen. I am not sure what this says about me other than the fact that I think about the state of my floors a lot. The kitchen in particular is one room I can never keep clean. That is in large part due to my kids who somehow create a trail of crumbs whenever they eat. They eat all their meals and snacks at the kitchen table so I have no idea why the crumbs are on the floor and not the table. Recently, I discovered a new way to keep the floors clean in less time (which is huge for this busy mom) and get my kids involved in the clean up. The Swiffer Sweep & Trap is new at Target and cleans it all, big or small.
The Swiffer Sweep & Trap was easy to put together with handle parts that just snapped in place. My four year old daughter saw it after it was put together, and could not understand how it fit in the package. It uses the same dry cloths as the Swiffer, and they are simple to pop into place.
The Sweep & Trap uses rotating blades to pick up larger particles and flick them into the dirt bin while the dry cloth traps dirt, dust and hair that is lurking on your floor.
Look at those pieces of cereal getting swept up by the rotating blades and stored in the dirt bin. The bin is easily removed for cleaning and is just as easy to reattach.
Bye bye pesky cereal! I love that no batteries or power are required since it is as easy to use as a traditional broom. The rotating blades are soft, so no need to worry about scratching your hardwood floors.
My daughter was having so much fun using the Sweep & Trap that I couldn't get it out of her hands. I never thought I would see this big a smile on my daughter's face while she was cleaning.
She actually swept the entire kitchen and didn't even stop when I told her it was time for snack.
On the day my daughter helped clean, I thought my floor was okay other than a few crumbs and bits of food. I had swept with a normal broom the day before. I was surprised when I turned over the Sweep & Trap and discovered the dust, dirt and pet hair that it picked up. Yuck!
The combination of the rotating blades and dry cloth clean up big and small messes in a single swipe which makes cleaning more efficient. After all, who has lots of time to spend cleaning? Now I can clean less and embrace life's little messes more.
