Did you know that you can make your kids yummy cheesy crackers that taste better than those cheese crackers you get at the store? I have been wanting to make try to make our own crackers for some time, but always thought they were too complicated. Turns out they are anything but. This recipe for cheese crackers uses only 5 ingredients and is so easy to make even a child can do it.

Recipe adapted from Divas Can Cook. You will need:
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (we used a cheddar/jack mix but just sharp cheddar would work great too)
- 4 tablespoons of unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup of grated Parmesan cheese
- 3/4 cup of flour
- 1/2 teaspoon of salt
- Food processor
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Pour cheeses, butter, flour and salt into the food processor bowl.
Kids love helping out in the kitchen and this kid's recipe is so simple, there are lots of ways they can help.
Now comes my kids favorite part - the processing! They loved watching the ingredients spin and combine to make a dough ball. At first it seemed like it would never make a dough ball, but then as if by magic the dough ball appeared.
Wrap the dough ball in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
You can make these crackers any shape you want. We had a small circle cookie cutter so we went with circles. Cut out crackers and place on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes. Mine took closer to 15 minutes, but ovens vary. You will want the crackers to be slightly golden brown on the bottom.
These cheesy crackers are crispy, crunchy and flaky. This is a snack you can feel good giving the kiddos! Just think of all the preservatives you avoided. I have to warn you that these are addictive They go fast so I would recommend doubling this cracker recipe so you have enough for your hungry bunch.
