Faithful Mess For Less readers might notice that my kids look a lot younger in these photos. No, I didn't acquire some sort of time machine, but I did find these photos of my kids giving their dolls a bath which we did BMFL (before Mess For Less). So prepare to get wet and have some fun washing dolls with us!
You will need:- Dolls
- Large plastic bin or container
- Sponges
- Bubble bath soap
- Water
This water activity is simple to set up. Simply fill your container with some bubble bath soap and water. Then add some sponges and dolls. We used both hard plastic dolls and dolls with softer bodies. The softer dolls took longer to dry but we left all the dolls in the sun for a day or so and they dried completely.
The soap and water provided a great sensory play experience for my kids.
The kids got to practicing caring for their dolls as they got them soapy and rinsed them off. A watering can would be a great addition to this activity since it will help to rinse off the soap.
The kids got to reenact some of their bath time experiences.
My daughter experimented with washing her dolls hair. First she tried using a wet sponge to wash her hair. That didn't work the way she'd hoped.
It worked a lot better when she dipped the dolls head in the bath and got her hair wet that way.
The kids had so much fun cleaning their dolls that day. As an added bonus some pretty dirty dolls got all sparkly clean!
