Living the Good Life Even With Uncertainty {Sponsored Post from Allstate}

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Allstate. All opinions are 100% mine.

Change is a necessary part of life, yet most people dread it. It is so easy to get comfortable in a current situation that we often don't think about change until we are forced to come face to face with it. Since meeting my husband 10 years ago, we have gone through our fair share of changes. They have all been good changes: getting married, having kids, new jobs and more, but at the time they had a fair amount of stress associated with them. One of our most stressful events was when we moved across the country for a job opportunity.

My twins were two months old when my husband go laid off. We were living in New York at the time where I had lived all my life and we were determined to stay there. After a few months of dead ends on a new job, a great opportunity presented itself in California. After lots of discussion and soul searching we decided to make the move. This was not an easy decision as we would be leaving the home we just built, family and friends. My parents were able to move to California as well which made things much easier.

I was miserable to leave New York and I could not imagine liking California or ever making any friends here. We have been in California for five years and I love many things about where we live. We have closer friends than we did in New York. Everyone we knew on the East Coast was so spread out that we rarely saw them. We have a wonderful church community we have become a part of. In short, I would love to stay here.

But change is a part of life, and in this economy it's rare than anyone stays in one place for years and years. One thing about having moved across the country once before for a job, is that  you learn to really treasure the people and experiences that you are blessed with. So I am open to what the future brings and while I hope it will be here, one can never know. The only thing I know for certain is that when change happens I plan to accept it and go wherever this Good Life takes me.
