Hershey's Peppermint Bark Bell Cookies - Food Fun Friday

If you love the taste of peppermint bark, then you must try these simple Peppermint Bark Bell Cookies. They are festive and perfect for a cookie exchange.  I found Hershey's Peppermint Bark Bells at Target and they are addicting on their own or in these cookies. If all this talk of cookie recipes is making you hungry, you'll want to check out our 12 Days of Christmas Cookies and Meringue Snowmen.

Ingredients:
  • 1/2 cup of softened butter or margarine
  • 1 cup of sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla
  • 2 cups of flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon of baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon of salt
  • 2 tablespoons of milk
  • Red and green sugar crystals
  • Hershey's Peppermint Bark Bells
I modified one of our favorite recipes for Kisses Candy Cane Blossoms from Hershey's by using Peppermint Bark Bells instead of a Kiss.

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Beat butter with sugar, egg and vanilla in a large bowl. In another bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt. Add dry mixture and milk to the butter and sugar mixture, mixing until well blended.

Shape the dough into 1 inch balls. My dough was pretty sticky so I dusted it with flour to help me shape it into balls.

Roll the balls in the red and green sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees on a greased cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool for 2-3 minutes. Place an unwrapped Peppermint Bark Bell in the center of each cookie and push it into place.

Place cookies on a cooling rack and allow cookie to cool completely before serving.
