Many families have Christmas traditions. You know, things your family does each year to prepare for the big day. You may have multiple traditions. We open an Advent calendar, visit holiday lights, and open a present on Christmas Eve. But one of my kids' favorite traditions is making ornaments for our tree. I have a collection of ornaments that their little hands have made over the years. This year I started a new tradition. I bought the kids some cozy winter pajamas at Sears where you can get the look of the holidays. They got to wear the new pajamas while creating their ornaments.
I found some adorable Joe Boxer PJs at Sears. They have a glitter polar bear on the shirt and some super warm fleece pants. My girls love hearts and glitter so my pajama choice was a no-brainer. I love that my purchase earned me Shop Your Way Rewards Points that I can use on future purchases at Sears. Woo-hoo! Thanks Sears and #Cbias!
If you are a details person like I am, then you will notice how the pattern in the fleece pants repeats itself on the bear's hat and scarf.
There are other adorable details like a stitched ribbon bow. These pajamas are comfy and stylish!
My daughter couldn't wait to get into her new pajamas.
She even demonstrated how they look while sleeping. The "sleeping" didn't last long however, once I told her we would making tissue paper Christmas ornaments.
To make tissue paper Christmas tree ornaments you will need:
- Tissue paper squares - green , yellow and other colors for ornaments (you can cut them out yourself or use pre-cut small squares)
- 3 green Popsicle sticks (we used the large tongue depressor size)
- 1 natural colored Popsicle stick
- White glue
Before the activity, glue the green Popsicle sticks together to make a triangle. Break the natural colored Popsicle stick in half and glue it to the middle of the bottom green stick. Let these dry before the kids start to decorate the ornaments.
Have your child squeeze glue onto the green triangle tree and crumble a small green square of tissue paper. They will stick the crumbled tissue paper onto the triangle, making sure not to leave any space in between the paper.
My youngest struggles with a glue bottle so I poured some glue into a cup for her and let her spread it with a paint brush.
Cover the entire tree with crumbled green tissue paper. Add a crumbled yellow paper to the top for a star and use other colors of tissue paper for ornaments.
When your child is done, just add a hook and they will have a beautifully decorated tree ready for hanging.
My daughter was so proud to hang her ornament on the tree. It really added a colorful touch.
I have a feeling these Christmas tree ornaments will become part of our Christmas traditions and will make an appearance for years to come.

These are the exact same jammies I bought my daughter for Christmas Eve and seeing them on they're so much cuter! Now I'm all excited about them! And I love this craft, it's so adorable and looks pretty easy too! We just might have to use this over the next few days now that school is out. #client
ReplyDeleteThanks Nicole! My kids are loving their jammies and want to wear them every night which is an issue because they do need to be washed sometimes. LOL!
