Pretzel Dragonfly - Food Fun Friday

Pretzel Dragonfly - this easy snack is perfect for Spring and a hit with kids of all ages.

I am excited to share this simple Pretzel Dragonfly with you all. Sometimes I like to make a special snack for the kids (okay, and for myself) but I don't have a lot of time to do so. This snack requires no real cooking unless you count the few minutes of melting the candy coating. If you try this and love it (and you will!) be sure to try our Pretzel Bark as well.

Ingredients:

Ingredients for pretzel dragonflies

The amounts you use will really depend on how much you are making. I did not make that many because I knew I would be tempted to eat them. I used two squares of bark with the amount of pretzels you see above.

Melt the bark or candy melts according the directions on package. I usually just microwave them for a few minutes and stir every so often until they are melted.

Using a spoon, pour some melted bark (or candy melts) on to the pretzel sticks.

Dip two pretzel twists into the melted bark. This part will get a little messy. I coated both sides by dropping the pretzel in the bark filled bowl, flipping it over and fishing it out with a spoon. Then I used my fingers to place the pretzels on either size of the pretzel stick so they looked like wings. You will want to be sure they are touching the bark on the pretzel stick so they will be attached when it hardens. Finally, decorate with some sprinkles before the pretzels harden.

Luckily, I had a helper who was all too glad to help decorate.

I placed mine in the freezer for a few minutes so the bark could harden. You can also leave them out (assuming it's not too hot) and they will set as well, it just takes a little longer.

It's pretty hard to screw up candy coated pretzels. And adding sprinkles makes anything more fun!
