Read With Your Kids and Enter to Win a LeapFrog Prize Pack

Are you raising readers? Kids and parents these days are busier than ever, but luckily you don't need hours and hours to instill a lifelong love of reading in your child. What if I told you that reading to your child for 20 minutes a day could have a significant impact on their test scores? Knowing that makes me want to make the time to read with my child, how about you? LeapFrog wants to help all parents read with their children for 20 minutes a day, and has launched a Reading Month to help do so.

One great way to introduce your child to the fun of reading is using tools such as LeapFrog's Tag Junior. Tag Junior is a series of books and a device (ours was in the shape of Scout) that helps non-readers and readers alike explore books. When you hold Scout over a sentence of picture he will read, sing, make a sound and basically interact with the story. I have no idea how he does it, but it is very cool to see!

Tag Junior is recommended for kids 1-4 and I used it with my 3 year old, who is not a reader, and my 4 year old twins, who are reading. They each got something different from it.

My older daughter could read most of the words in the book herself. She used Scout to bring the story to life with sounds. She loved when Scout asked her a question based on where she was in the book.

My youngest can't read any words yet, but she loved exploring every inch of the books using Scout. I think she enjoyed the fact that she could be a little more independent and not ask her sisters what the book said. She would just hold Scout over the words and he would read them to her.

She really enjoyed the songs that Scout sang as well.

The kids have not stopped playing with our Tag Junior since we got it. These books really don't get old because of the seemingly endless supply of interactions your child can have with them.

Of course you don't need the Scout toy to enjoy the books. There are a wide variety of engaging stories that you little ones will love to read with you.

It only takes 20 minutes a day to make a lasting impact on your child and create some wonderful memories. We took the LeapFrog Reading Month Pledge and pledged to read with our kids 20 minutes a day. Are you up for the challenge? When you take the challenge and share it on your Facebook page, LeapFrog will donate books to America's schools.

Do you think your kid would love a Tag Junior of their own? Our friends at LeapFrog are giving away a LeapFrog prize pack to one lucky Mess For Less Reader. Enter to win a LeapFrog Prize pack which will include: Tag Leap and the Lost Dinosaur, Tag Get Ready for Kindergarten, Tag Junior Toddler Milestones, Tag Junior Animals Around the World. Approximate value of prize pack items is $50. Rules and entry below. If you don't win, you can still save $3 on Tag products purchased through the LeapFrog site by using this coupon.

I was selected for this opportunity by Clever Girls Collective but content and opinions expressed here are my own. To take the LeapFrog Reading Month pledge, please visit their Facebook page. #LFReadingMonth #spon
