Recently we headed over to Arby's to sample the new Smokehouse Brisket Sandwich. Taking the kids out to eat is always an adventure as they are quite picky eaters. We thought we would have good luck at Arby's as they have roast beef and roast beef is one of few meats the kids will eat. We also got them some apples and milk as part of their kids meal. Once the girls were happily munching away, my husband and I were free to try the Smokehouse Brisket.
What makes the Smokehouse Brisket different is that it is smoked at least 13 hours which really brings out it's tenderness and flavor. Take a look at my sandwich which was piled high with slow smoked beef brisket , then topped with smoked Gouda, crispy onions, BBQ sauce and mayo. This was all served on a toasted bakery-style bun.
Okay, so it looks great, but how does it taste? You could really tell that it was slowly smoked from the very first bite. The brisket is the star of the show, but the other ingredients really complement it. The crispy onions give a nice crunch with each bite with the BBQ sauce adds just the right amount of tang. My husband and I LOVED the Smokehouse Brisket. So much so that this will be our new go-to sandwich at Arby's.
