You all know my love of glitter and the dollar store. Well this kids Christmas activity combines both of those things. With just a few simple and inexpensive supplies, you can make some gorgeous holiday decor to brighten up your place.
- Packing foam snowflakes from dollar store
- Glitter
- Glue, cup, and brush
Have your kids paint the entire snowflake with white glue.
B lost patience for this about half way through and I had to complete the rest.
Then comes the super fun (and super messy) part: the sprinkling of the glitter!
My girls were glitter happy and just shook way too much glitter on this thing. But hey, they were having fun.
"A" in particular was guilty of over glittering. When she was done, we shook off the excess (there was lots!) and let the snowflake dry.
Here you see B shaking her glitter. If you will notice in the background, A is checking her work and telling her how to do it. Yeah, she's THAT kind of sister.
And here are our finished snowflakes adding a touch of Christmas spirit to our sliding doors. I made the pink one from a variety of glitter we had leftover from other projects. These are really pretty on a window or you could glitter both sides and hang them from some fishing line. That would be very pretty too. You can even make ornaments out of these. I would love to hear what you would do with them.

Those are pretty. I told my son's kindergarten teacher about your blog today. I helped with elf factories today. They made some cute things, and of course, I got an easy craft.
ReplyDeleteI also have a give away for children this week on the blog. It's with collegiate mascot books. Winners can pick a book about their favorite mascot. They have a lot of big schools, but not all the smaller schools. Leigh

I saw these and thought about letting the boys paint them, but passed on them when my 5 year old suggested letting the puppy play fetch with them!
