Food Fun Friday - Cranberry Bread Tradition - Guest Post from Minivan Diva

What an honor it is for me today to have Katie from Minivan Diva sharing a guest post.  Katie is an amazing, strong woman with big faith.  You can't read her blog without admiring her and learning from her. Today she will let us in on a Christmas tradition in her family that takes the focus off of receiving and puts it on giving.  Gotta love that!

Christmas traditions are big in this home.

One of my favorites is baking cranberry bread with the boys.

Today we spent a cold rainy day hunkered inside together after school.

The boys took turns measuring, pouring, and stirring.

Like much of life, it is the process that is the most rewarding.

For me, it is the time chatting as we bake that is most treasured.

These traditions are about so much more than just doing something because we did it the year before and the year before that.

No, they are more than that.

They are about relationships.

They are about time together.

They are about love for one another.

As we prepped our four mini pans after following the recipe on the Ocean Spray cranberry bag (minus the nuts--sorry nut peeps), our anticipation grew. There is nothing like a fresh, warm bread to make a rainy day at home perfect.

After the bread completely cooled, we removed the bread from the pans and wrapped the loaves in plastic wrap.

In order to spruce it up, we wrapped each one in brown shipping paper.

The boys stamped their hearts out.

I taped festive ribbon and added the stamped tags.

Then we were ready to drop off our bread at our neighbors' like we do every year.

Well, after we tasted the bread 1st to make sure it was just right.

And it was. So we went ahead and shared with our neighbors.

Traditions.

They are good for soul.

May you each have a very Merry Christmas.

Much love,
Katie
