American Cancer Society - More Birthdays

I pray that no one reading this has been affected by cancer, yet I know that is probably not the case. These days it seems like everyone has a friend, family member or even themselves who have battled this disease. Cancer has certainly touched my family. We lost my Father-In-Law to cancer before I married my husband or our kids were born. He was a fighter and battled the disease as long as he could. My mother is breast cancer survivor and we are thankful for each day she gets to spend with her grandchildren. Because of advancements made by organizations like the American Cancer Society, she was able to detect the disease early and receive treatment. Not everyone is so lucky.

I believe passionately in this cause and the American Cancer Society's new More Birthdays campaign. Check out this video to learn about More Birthdays.

  1. Thanks for sharing that, Vicky. My little girl finished chemo in April. Sorry to hear about your father-in-law, but so glad that your mom is a survivor! I really appreciate you getting the word out there about helping fund research to find a cure. There are so many children (and adults) out there with cancer and not enough funds by far.

  2. My mother is a cancer survivor too, and I have a young cousin that beat cancer among all his other medical problems, but some of the friends his family made in the Children's Hospital were not so lucky. My heart goes out to the other families touched by cancer. Bless you for sharing your experience and spreading the word!

  3. My husband was diagnosed with metastatic melanoma at 30! It has been 3 years since his treatment and he is doing well. It was such a terrifying process. I love this post.
